The mission of Accounts Payable, Tax & Payment Services is to efficiently and accurately manage all financial transactions related to accounts payable, taxes, and payments. Core Functions

Our team plays a critical role in supporting campus-wide financial operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Invoice Processing & Supplier Payments: Managing invoice processing and ensuring timely payments to UC Merced suppliers.
  • Tax Compliance & Reporting: Managing all tax-related matters, including accurate preparation and submission of reports to state and federal agencies, while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Gift Card Compliance: Provide training and guidance to ensure secure handling, distribution, tracking, and transparent reporting of gift cards for gifts, awards, and research studies.
  • Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance: Overseeing compliance with PCI standards in the processing, storage, and transmission of credit card data to safeguard financial information and reduce risk.
  • Financial Integrity and Stakeholder Support: Upholding financial integrity by providing clear guidance, responsive support, and fostering collaboration with stakeholders to ensure compliant and efficient financial processes.
