Mission Statement
The mission of Accounts Payable, Tax & Payment Services is to efficiently and accurately manage all financial transactions related to accounts payable, taxes, and payments. We are committed to providing excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and policies. Through continuous improvement and innovation, we strive to optimize processes, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the overall financial integrity of the organization.
Core Functions
Our team plays a critical role in supporting campus-wide financial operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Invoice Processing & Supplier Payments: Managing invoice processing and ensuring timely payments to UC Merced suppliers.
- Tax Compliance & Reporting: Managing all tax-related matters, including accurate preparation and submission of reports to state and federal agencies, while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Gift Card Compliance: Provide training and guidance to ensure secure handling, distribution, tracking, and transparent reporting of gift cards for gifts, awards, and research studies.
- Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance: Overseeing compliance with PCI standards in the processing, storage, and transmission of credit card data to safeguard financial information and reduce risk.
- Financial Integrity and Stakeholder Support: Upholding financial integrity by providing clear guidance, responsive support, and fostering collaboration with stakeholders to ensure compliant and efficient financial processes.
