Effective March 20, 2023, honorariums paid to individuals will be limited to $2,500 per calendar year. Payment requests that exceed $2,500 will be submitted automatically to Procurement to be processed as a Service Agreement.
In preparation for the close of the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, deadlines have been established to ensure timely review and submission of items and processes critical to closing the fiscal year. Review these deadlines carefully as they may have an impact on departmental planning and differ from those in previous years. It is essential that departments supply the necessary information by close of business (5 p.m.) on each of the specified deadlines.

Effort reports for Spring 2021 have been generated and are available to those on campus with an effort certification role. All investigators on federal or federal flow-through funded sponsored agreements are responsible for certifying the amount of effort they and their employees spend on sponsored activities.

We are happy to announce the appointment of two directors in the Division of Finance and Administration’s Business and Financial Services. Christie Harvey, who has held several key roles at UC Merced, has been named Director of Accounts Payable, Travel and Tax. Carol Dinuzzo, a Merced native with an extensive background in financial management, has joined the university as Director of Financial and Accounting Services.
UC Merced departments have begun the work required to close fiscal year 2021-22. To assist in this process, General Accounting has assembled documentation of fiscal close deadlines and other information.
As prescribed by the State of California, UC Merced must close its general ledger for FY2022 on June 30. For campus departments, two significant periods lead up to this date:

We are pleased to announce that Jennifer Riedeman has accepted the role of Interim Director of General Accounting. Jennifer has been with UC Merced for more than eight years, including the last six as Director of Treasury, Accounts Payable Disbursements & Cashiering.
Her interim appointment begins Friday, April 1.
