Please share this important message with colleagues in your academic and staff communities.
Effort reports for Spring 2021 have been generated and are available to those on campus with an effort certification role. All investigators on federal or federal flow-through funded sponsored agreements are responsible for certifying the amount of effort they and their employees spend on sponsored activities.
If you have been identified as a certifier for one of the fund types listed above, you will receive an email from the Effort Reporting System (ERS) with a link to certify your report(s) directly in the system. Please use the quick start guide for certifiers to familiarize yourself with the certification process in ERS.
Please reach out to the Project Portfolio Management team with any questions related to certifying effort in ERS at PPFM@ucmerced.edu
Please note: UC Merced temporarily paused the issuance of effort reports through ERS during the implementation of the Oracle financial management system. ERS is a web-based tool used by the university to fulfill the effort reporting requirement. ERS calculates the distribution of effort for all employees paid from federal and federal flow-through funds, captures certification electronically, and provides a mechanism for processing corrections and recertifying reports. Please find links to additional resources below.
UC Merced will have two “catch up” certifications for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 over the next few months; please be on the lookout for those notifications.
Sincerely,
Amanda Preston-Nelson | Associate Vice Chancellor and Controller
Kelli Maxey | Assistant Controller
