Colleagues,
I’m writing to provide a status update on the gift and endowment clean-up initiative.
While initial progress did not meet our expectations, the Division of Finance and Administration has remediated the core issues that were impeding movement on this project. Despite those improvements, the demands of fiscal close, pressing UCOP year-end obligations, and a temporary reduction in accounting capacity—specifically the absence of two lead accountants—have left us unable to advance the initiative further until after fiscal close is complete.
We will resume activities in October 2025, beginning with a structured plan, including a training phase for new team members to ensure consistent progress going forward.
