Campus Onboarding Actions

New or re-hired individuals may have additional actions necessary to work at UC Merced.  These include:

· COVID 19: All UC Merced staff, faculty, academic personnel, and student employees are required to comply with COVID-19 Vaccination Policy Program. For information regarding the policy and requirements, please visit UC Merced Campus Ready.

· CATCARD: The CatCard is your campus identification card (ID), which you can obtain from the CatCard Office on campus: South Campus, Granite Pass Room #171. Your CatCard grants you access to UC Merced buildings and labs located on- and off-campus. CatCards can also be loaded with money at Cashier Services on the first floor of the library building and used to pay for goods in the Campus Store and campus dining facilities. Some local businesses also offer discounts to CatCard holders.  For more information, please go here

· PARKING: All campus employees are asked to register their vehicles on the UC Merced Parking Portal. You may also purchase your parking permit and view violations and citations on the portal.

· TIMEKEEPING: Employees eligible to accrue vacation and/or sick leave are required to submit a timesheet via the online Time Reporting System (TRS). You may access the TRS system within 24 hours receiving your new hire welcome message by using your UCMNet ID and password. For more information, please go here

Bi-weekly Paid Employees: timesheets are due to be submitted no later than end-of-shift on your last scheduled workday at the end of a pay cycle (every other Saturday). Late submitted timesheets will be processed on the next regular pay period.

Monthly Paid Employees:  timesheets are due by noon the 5th of every month. Monthly timesheets are processed one month in arrears.  Thus, leave accruals, e.g., vacation, are not deducted from your TRS balances until processed through the payroll system.

· GLACIER (NON-RESIDENT ALIENS ONLY): GLACIER is an Online Tax Compliance System used by UCMerced. Within 10 days of the receipt of your welcome email, please log in to GLACIER and provide any requested information via the GLACIER Online Tax Compliance System. For more information, please go here

· NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION: NEO is mandatory for all newly hired non-faculty, non-academic, non-student staff and registration is required.  New staff members are expected to attend NEO within the first 60 days of starting employment with UC Merced.  For more information or to register for NEO, please go here.

Academic employees should contact Academic Personnel with questions regarding new employee orientation.
